Jennifer’s non-diet approach to optimal health and weight loss leads to long-term success. By shifting the philosophy of eating and emphasizing overall health as preventative medicine, clients naturally release their focus on what they can and cannot eat (good food vs. bad food). In our society, people temporarily adopt the latest diet fad, which may work for a while (the 2-week syndrome). Eventually the lifestyle and dietary changes are too drastic or they hit weight-loss plateaus and ultimately end the diet in frustration. By putting more emphasis on your health and making lifestyle changes, experts have showm that you can raise your overall self-esteem, resulting in healthy eating, weight loss, and improved overall health.
People who believe they eat correctly may not be eating the right foods for their biochemical and metabolic needs. Many people are not able to digest and assimilate nutrients due to fast-paced lifestyles, a toxic body and environment, and high stress levels. Proper nutrition can make a tremendous difference on the path to health success. You can access abundant energy, limitless healing, and increase your quality of life once you understand how your body really works. Once that has been established, you can tap into your own natural ability, allowing your body to start working for you, instead of against you. Get ready to embark on an amazing journey of self-discovery and optimal health. Many clients are able to reach a level of health they have never experienced or imagined possible.
Initial Consultation (90-minutes):
Jennifer’s plan for nutritional support begins with an initial extensive and comprehensive 90-minute individual consultation. During that time, Jennifer will review your past & current environment, eating habits, long-term goals, special conditions, personal likes and dislikes, and any other information necessary to create your personal program for success.
Food Journal
In order for Jennifer to get a better understanding of your nutritional status, all clients fill out an accurate and very honest food journal or “diary” for three days to one week prior to our initial consultation (click here – pdf food journal attachment). The more open and honest you are, the better she can assist you. The food journal is a helpful tool used to help make proper dietary suggestions for you and your lifestyle.
“I don’t have time” is what Jennifer frequently hears from new clients. However, experts agree that when you track your diet you are much more likely to lose weight but most importantly keep it off. Maintaining a food journal/diary is one of the most powerful tools and recommended weight loss strategies. Jennifer has been maintaining one for over 10 years (testing out new theories, the latest and greatest diets, supplements, etc). – because a food journal is the key to identifying emotional triggers which lead to self-sabotaging behavior, negative eating patterns, bad habits and less than optimal food choices. With this information, Jennifer can replace your current choices with healthier options that work into your life-long health plan. Realize that your intention with the journal is very important as it will greatly assist in playing up your strengths and modifying any area’s that may need attention. Clients who are diligent with their food journal see the best results in the shortest amount of time.
The average person consumes over 1,095 meals each year. Multiply that number times your age (see below) and you have a pretty good understanding of what we are working with regarding habits, emotions, stress, social triggers and how they relate to your food choices!
- 1,095 meals a year x 20 years = 21,900 meals
- 1,095 meals a year x 30 years = 32,850 meals
- 1,095 meals a year x 40 years = 43,800 meals
- 1,095 meals a year x 50 years = 54,750 meals
