Fast food is packed with preservatives, hydrogenated or trans fats, refined sugar, artificial flavors, colors, and ingredients that you cannot even pronounce. In experiments where monkeys were fed a fast-food diet rich in trans fats grew fatter around the waist (as well as developing signs of insulin resistance – pre diabetes) than those fed a diet containing the same number of calories overall while being rich in unsaturated fats.
