Day # 28

Today I will revisit my most challenge mindful eating skill or skills on another level of awareness and mindfulness.

It wouldn’t be a challenge if we didn’t revisit our challenging skills in the final stretch.  Again.  Observe how far you’ve come from day one and just know that these eating skills will be a work in progress, but perhaps one of the most worthy that you’ve experienced in a long, long time.

I know my most challenging eating skills include quite a bit: not snacking while making food (I taste way too frequently and when I make my green juice in the morning.  If I cut a fresh apple I like to slather it with sunflower butter and eat while prepping, but if I have the apples pre-cut, I don’t do the nut butter thing.  Isn’t that funny?  So I pre-chop them on the weekends to prevent the mindless counter snacking while prepping.  I’ll also have to pull myself away from my counter if working from home or ideally move to the kitchen at the office to avoid eating at my desk.  This rarely happens since my work day can get hairy with clients arriving early or late, so it can throw a kink in my eating schedule.

Additionally, after long days (especially Thursdays) I have to be mindful of falling into the “I deserve a big hearty meal because I’m in the home stretch of the week” mindset or even worse start overeating because of the stressful day my other half had.  Ohhhh and I have NOT been really good at assessing my hunger levels before meals (unless I’m starving then I’m keenly aware of that) so I’d like to get back into that habit.  But the pantry nibbling has significantly decreased so that is a positive!   Think about what challenges were particularly difficult and revisit as many as you can.

Ok, put your best foot forward with this one.  We are in the home stretch and you are crushing this challenge, right?  Evaluate your day on a scale of 1-10 to see where you rank.  Then push yourself to get to the next level.  Get out of your comfort zone.  Nothing good ever happens of sitting and marinating in that place!  And remember, you are exactly where you are supposed to be 🙂  I’m proud of you…..
