Sati is Sanskrit for Mindfulness. Sati Society is a group of conscious and intentional humans on the peaceful path to food freedom, body neutrality, and lifestyle sovereignty.

Food Freedom allows you to access guidance from your Intelligent Belly  Wisdom (and body wisdom) while turning down the noise on diet culture and the obsessive quest for thinness or to control your weight.

Body neutrality is a sustainable way of viewing our human body as an alternative to the body positivity movement. Body neutrality focuses on self-care and compassion versus self-criticism or the goal of the diet-based "perfect" body. Instead of positive or negative, we focus on the mindful middle zone of neutrality: acceptance and kindness.

Lifestyle sovereignty means that you as an individual, have complete control over your body - what, when, and how much you eat, when and how you move or exercise. We believe that our body is part of the bigger picture, but avoid focusing or obsessing on it.

We celebrate the freedom and right to experiment and choose what feels appropriate for us in the moment without judgment, shame, or guilt.

Not that long ago I was in your shoes.

Divorcing myself from the chronic diet cycle was the best and also most challenging  thing I ever did for myself - I'll never go back to diets!

I knew deep in my heart that my eating habits and body beliefs were negatively impacting my mental health. While I wanted a healthier relationship with both, I was scared to stop dieting and "letting my body go." 

It felt like a HUGE leap of faith, but I gave myself a year to explore mindful eating. Yes, I still dabbled with diet behaviors at first since it's hard to just turn off decades of old habits like a light switch. It takes time, patience, and kindness.

But as I rebuilt trust with my body, following the cues it gave me as a child, magic started to happen. With the increase in disordered eating from the influence of social media, I can't imagine what my emotional or mental health would look like if I was still stuck with my food rules to control my appearance. Ugh, that's so pre-Covid!
